Interesting clash of medieval looking art design mixed with a futuristic function for the armor itself and the rifle. It's a very interesting neo-feudalism for a science fiction universe that is honestly very cool. I like the fact that he's wearing a cloak. More soldiers should wear cloaks more often. The weapon design is simple, but that was the point here I think. The rifle is very barebones: no visible barrel, no sights, or anything of that nature, but I feel it actually adds to the piece, because it shows a disparity between the clear science fiction setting and the look of a medieval knight. I think what could have made this picture even more immersive would have been a personal looking design on the rifle which was kind of common to knights back in the day. Personalized weapons signified wealth, glory, and respect among peers, unless the individual above is probably a lower-level soldier, in which case, it makes sense.
I'm also interested in the people in the far background. They can't be statues. What's the story behind them?
